Aprica, the pass between Valtellina and Val Camonica
At 1,172 metres, Aprica stretches along the pass that links the Adda valley to the Oglio valley, in the province of Sondrio. It is a real mountain village: the slopes run down to the houses and the woods of the Orobie Valtellinesi rise just above the rooftops.
You can drive up from Valtellina via Tresenda, or from Val Camonica via Edolo: either way, the pass road leads straight into the village.

Why people keep coming back
In winter the ski area offers around 50 kilometres of slopes across four linked sectors — Campetti, Palabione, Magnolta and Baradello — up to 2,300 metres. In summer the lifts carry hikers and bikers up high, along more than 200 kilometres of trails.
Then there is everything else: the Pian di Gembro nature reserve, the Alpine wildlife observatory, the flavours of Valtellina and, about half an hour’s drive away, Tirano and the Bernina Red Train.
Explore Aprica
Winter, from December to March, is ski season: snow, crisp clear days and slopes for every level. Spring and autumn are the quietest months, ideal for peace and walks in the woods. Summer, from June to September, brings long, cool days: the time for hiking, biking and day trips between Valtellina and Switzerland.
